I was thoroughly excited to find out that for my A2 Media Course, I would be able to produce my own horror trailer and it's promotional packagae, (I had visions of a Hollywood budget with A-list actors) but for now my handheld camera and friends and family will have to do! At first I had some hesitations, not being a hard-core fan of the genre, I felt unprepared for the task in hand, however after some history briefing and after watching a few classics (The Exorcist and Scream to name a few), I then felt more confident in producing a story and what the codes and conventions of Horror films were. Although I always feel uneasy and restless after watching them, there's something about horror films which entice you to go watch them again and again. Maybe it's the thrill of being scared? The excitement of not knowing whats going to happen? The fun of working out the 'secret' or 'whodunnit'?
Either way I am looking forward to the process as I would like to expand my creative abilitues and also to explore new technologies and softwares.
